Founded in 1900, Mead & Hunt is a Top 100 architectural and engineering firm that provides diversified services nationwide. With a team of over 1200 professionals in more than 40 offices across the US, the firm supports several key markets, including transportation, aviation, food and beverage, federal, state and local governments, and water.
Our transportation services include ITS systems design, traffic signal systems and signal timing, transportation systems management and operations, data analytics, systems engineering for ITS, connected and autonomous vehicles, and telecommunications engineering. As recognized experts in transportation engineering and construction, our team has successfully undertaken numerous design, study, and construction projects, including several major traffic planning projects.
Consistently guiding the work we do, our goal is to improve safety and mobility for vehicular, pedestrians, bicyclists, freight, and public transportation. As we move toward an increasingly equitable and multimodal view of transportation, our team works to provide comprehensive traffic solutions that enhance the image of the transportation engineering profession in local communities, and ultimately move our industry toward a more sustainable future.
According to Keith Riniker, Mead & Hunt Traffic and ITS Business Unit Leader, “Having successfully retimed over 15,000 signals over the last decade, we strive to improve safety, reduce congestion, and enhance mobility in the communities we live and work. We have taken on a wide range of signal timing challenges, ranging from large-scale statewide and citywide projects encompassing thousands of signals, to individual isolated signals. Regardless of the complexity or location, our team is here to help.”
Mead & Hunt has a deep history of integrity. Daniel Mead, the firm’s founder, was well-known in the industry for his stance on ethical engineering. His seminal ethics paper has remained a guiding force to modern engineering practices for over 100 years. Today, we continue to strive to do the right thing because we know it makes us stronger.
These values can be seen at work through our internal Mead & Hunt Cares program, which supports employee-directed giving efforts that make a difference in our communities and world. Efforts include expanding access to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM)-related subjects for the next generation, group volunteering, and sponsoring scholarships for both internal and external students.
