We put the IT in ITS with a suite of modern traffic management focused utilities is the goal of Butterfly Junction Technologies (BJT), a recently certified Women Owned Small Business (WOSB) and a corporate ITS Midwest member since 2022.

“We deliver innovative and impactful traffic management and worker safety systems that are scalable, modular, and affordable.” says Cory Beimesche, BJT's CEO, who has led the company since October 2020. Coming from decades of delivery experience in enterprise IT she highlights the foundation of BJT’s products and services, “Our approach is to lead with standards such as NTCIP, and supplement with vendor specific features for the widest feature set. Being standards-based provides flexibility while eliminating vendor lock-in. All our solutions are deployable on premise, in the cloud, or somewhere in between. BJT allows effective management of your spend. You pay only for the components that are needed. ”

BumbleDrive logoTake, for example, their modern traffic management system BumbleDrive: it is all you need if you are looking for a simple and affordable utility to manage, coordinate, and control smart road devices. “Bumble Drive offers Dynamic Message Sign (DMS) management, Video (CCTV) streaming, Asset Tracking, Vehicle Detection, Travel Time Calculation and Work Management, all wrapped in a clean and intuitive user interface” Beimesche explains. “BumbleDrive has a modern interface, easy to use and quick to adopt, it scales up with your growth; you use only the modules you need today, then expand capabilities by adding support for modules you want tomorrow. It is standards based for faster, easier and more cost-effective integrations and deployments.”

Another product on BJT's list of offerings is ZoneAware, a utility that makes roadwork safer. “ZoneAware keeps your workers safe by tracking worker presence in a workzone, providing you with advanced warning and notification so you can reduce response times and respond appropriately.” Beimesche says. “ZoneAware is automated, simple and secure.”

Asked if the company has other offerings, Cory Beimesche brings up one more gem in BJT’s utilities suite: TrAM, their traffic asset management system. “TrAm is built with traffic engineering in mind. It is focused, simple and clear, while modern and very powerful. TrAM enables you to break a multi-direction location into multiple sites. With TrAm you can track all traffic related and ITS device assets, everything from cables to vehicles, really.”

“We believe in systems that are easy to navigate, provide useful insights to reduce response time, and increase efficiency.” Beimesche declares. “As you keep traffic flowing, your daily tasks should be simplified. Plus, based on decades of solid experience as ITS professionals, we understand that one size does not fit all and offer custom integrations and solutions.”
