ITS Midwest Workshop with ITS America

Synopsis

This two-day course is designed for State and local highway agencies and private sector firms that support planning and project implementation related to intelligent transportation systems (ITS) with an understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals. The objective of this course is to provide transportation professionals with the foundation to begin cyber initiatives or improve existing programs within their transportation organization. This interactive course is designed for employees responsible for an agency's transportation systems operations to examine their current state of operations and work through the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) cybersecurity framework to achieve their agency's desired end state.

Participants will learn the foundations for applying the NIST cybersecurity framework to their organization in the form of a case study. Within the training series, they will learn about the contributions of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and how cyber threats impact an agency's infrastructure and operations. The NIST Framework is presented as a set of standards, guidelines, and best practices that participants can apply to their own case study considerations.
